Both Lafayette MVNZ and Here To Stay made the long trip across the Nullarbor to finish off the year with a bang! Lucy and Emma had huge success against some stiff competition given they are such a new and green combination. They placed 5th in the Australian young rider championship qualifier and after making it into the 1.45m final were 14th overall! They then continued on to Adelaide for the Jumping with the Stars classes to place 2nd and 5th.
Belinda and Jake also had a superb weekend with Jake putting his best foot forward to bring home a 4th in the CIC 3*** at Adelaide International 3DE and won highest placed off the track for the second year in a row!
Sarah had a wonderful finish to the season on board the scopey Fiorenza (aka Fly) who stepped up to Grand Prix level this year. Fly placed 4th in the prestigious Patrons Cup and also 4th in the Senior State Title. This is looking to be a promising combination for 2019!
Equestrian is a sport of ultimate highs and lows. Yalambi spring classic was a wonderful high class competition set in between beautiful scenery on wonderful area. Lafayette MVNZ continues to amaze us with a place on the first day, two perfect clear rounds and a 5th in the qualifier for the Gaenor Mcinnes Memorial and unfortunately just out of the placings in the final but we are beyond proud of this mare. Diamond B Catapulte was on form with an unlucky rail popping her out of the running for a place in the Gaenor. ESB Irish Tribute stepped into the main ring like an old pro and jumped so well over the 3 days and our new member of the team Oaks Diabella had clear rounds all weekend and a 6th on the saturday.
Phew what a busy few days it was! Now onto Patrons Cup weekend!
The Perth Royal is always a big show and this year we were fortunate enough to ride some fantastic tracks built by Michael Haese. Emma had a fabulous ride on Lucy both days to pick up a 3rd in the Pt 3 Mini Prix and 4th in the Young Rider Mini Prix. What a fabulous horse she is!
Wowee what a competition! Sarah and Yalambi’s Fiorenza were crowned Leading Rider for 2018 and placed 3th in the very prestigious Patersons Plate Grand Prix. What a super combination that are becoming!
Emma and Lafayette MVNZ also had a super weekend coming a very close 2nd in the Young Rider Championship. And little ESB Irish Tribute stepped up to handle her first 1.10m with ease.
Jake had a nice break after Melbourne 3DE and has come back booming and in tip top shape to win the CIC 3*** at Wooroloo 3DE last weekend! What a wonderful horse he is, we are over the moon with how well he has stepped up to this level and it seems the sky is the limit for this partnership!
After a postponed show due to excessive rainfall, the Swan River August show was fantastic the following day with great conditions, a relaxed vibe and exciting results by our team! Our baby of the team Tribute did two beautiful relaxed rounds in the 95cm and 105m scoring her first ribbon! Fly was keen to take the blue ribbon winning the 1.25m with a speedy jump off and Emma placed 4th in the Young Rider on Lucy a fantastic start for this very new partnership!
Our showjumping team is in top form right now and feeling prepped for the upcoming championship competitions.
WASJA was a very relaxed day with just Fly and Possum at the show bringing back a 3rd in the young rider and a 5th in the 1.35m.
It was full speed ahead at Swan River with both Sarah and Emma on the committee. Regardless of our busy schedule we were stoked with the horses, Lucy 3rd and Fly 4th in the 1.25m, Possum 2nd in the U25 Young Rider and Fly 4th in the 1.30m. Our next event will again be Swan River in 2 weeks time and we are looking forward to it!
